Pollution in our environment

Pollution:

Pollution is contamination by different types of chemicals or other agents that destroy parts of our environment and living organisms too. In simpler words pollutuion is when water, land, and air become very dirty. It's is usually caused by human action and is sometimes the consquence of natural disasters.

One of the most common natural disasters are earthquakes and volcanic eruption. Although these disasters don't seem to harm the environment much it does. These disasters kill a large amount of living organisms. The ashes that are released from eruptions, pollute the air.

Human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels. cutting down trees, and mining activities all affect the environment that me and you live in. When burning fossil fuels, humans benefit from the energy that it gives. What we don't realize now a days are the products being released in the air,  from the burning of fossil fuels. One of the most dangerouse chemicals that is released is CO2 gas. Because we cut down most trees, the intake of CO2 gas is less than the production of CO2 gas. This results in an excessive amount of CO2 in the air. CO2 will start absorbing more sunlight causing the earths tempreture to increase, which makes sea levels rise.

 Pollutant:

Pollutant is any substance introduced to the environment that affects the usefulness of the resource or the health of humans, animals, or ecosystem. Pollution is caused by pollutants.

A better defintion for pollutant, is that's basically a particles that contaminates the environment. These pollutants have the tendency to cause instability in the equilibrium of nature. These pollutants can cause various health hazards to living beings making them prone to various ailments and diseases. There are different kinds of pollutants. For eg: factory wastes let into the river, emissions from the vehicles into the air, loud noises and sounds, ash from the volcanoes, as I mentioned before. Most of the pollutants are due to the human activities while a few are the result of natural calamities.
